Les Charrieres dates back to 1623 when it was originally a Jersey farmhouse, making it one of the oldest hotels in Jersey. It was converted to a guesthouse even before the States of Jersey began the first hotels in Jersey and guesthouse register in 1948, and in 1991 was re-registered as a 41 bedroom hotel.

The James family have no other hotels in jersey but have owned this independent hotel for over a quarter of a century, during which time it has been practically rebuilt. The most major redevelopment include the opening of Jersey's first Carvery Restaurant in 1981,which has won awards in the Jersey Good Food Festival. The hotels restaurant uses as much Jersey produce as possible & also caters well for children, vegetarians, along with its extensive a l'carte menu is a wide selection of fresh fish dishes.
